Forthcoming One Woman Show - On Being Chosen

This is going to be my first One Woman Show and I'm real nervous.

In case you're wondering (well, even if you're not), I'll tell you what it's about.

"On Being Chosen", is a multi art form collage weaving poetry, drama, comedy, rap, dance and music to tell different parts of my life story.

It's about trials and tribulations that I've been through, amazing things that I have accomplished, barriers I have broken, people who have pushed me on my journey and the memory of those loved and lost.

The show will be supported by the Chosen Few band and Gospel Singer and Just Out of This World Finalist, Alicia Prayze.

I will keep you posted regarding dates.

A Woman Like Me

A woman like me …

Can’t be bought or sold,

Is worth more than silver or gold,

Carries a thousand stories in her mind

That are waiting to be told,

Has flawless ebony skin, even when old,

Will lend a child a sweater even if she’s cold,

Is difficult to mould,

Stands up tall and is extremely bold.

A woman like me will always choose the narrow road.

A woman like me …

Carries her history in the tips of her hair,

Knows when to say no and when to adhere,

Is warm and open and will handle you with care,

Afraid to neither laugh nor shed a tear,

Shows none of the crosses that she had to bear,

Past baggage, oh no! She will never ever wear,

That is not her fashion statement, not her portion you hear?

And whenever you need her, she'll try to be there.

A woman like me can only be found through prayer.

A woman like me is not an Island,

There’s no reason for her to grow alone.

A woman like me needs a man like you …

Of ambition, focus great standing and integrity
